StillSecure Licenses Sourcefire VRT Certified Snort(R) Rules to Supplement Attack Signatures in Award-Winning Border Guard(TM) IDS/IPS

LOUISVILLE, Colo., May 16 -- StillSecure, provider of an integrated suite of enterprise network security solutions, today announced that it has entered Sourcefire's Snort Integrator Program, allowing it to resell and deliver Sourcefire VRT Certified Snort Rule updates directly to its end users.

Under the terms of the agreement, StillSecure will license Sourcefire's VRT rule set for inclusion in the StillSecure suite of security products, including Border Guard, its award-winning intrusion detection/prevention solution (IDS/IPS). The Sourcefire VRT certified rule set, which contain Snort rules that are written, tested and certified by Sourcefire's Vulnerability Research Team, will supplement StillSecure's existing sources for Snort rules.

"Sourcefire has invested tremendously in providing the community with high quality Snort signatures and we are excited that companies like StillSecure recognize the value that our Vulnerability Research Team provides," said Martin Roesch, CTO and founder of Sourcefire. "StillSecure has always been one of the companies that fairly utilizes open source software such as Snort, and we're happy to see them contribute back to the community in this manner."

"Our goal is to provide the highest level of protection possible to our customers, which is why we use diverse sources of attack rules to greatly enhance the overall security posture," said Mitchell Ashley, CTO and VP of customer experience at StillSecure. "The Sourcefire VRT rule set will complement our existing sources including our own Security Alert Team(TM). We call on all organizations utilizing Snort for profit to contribute back to the community by licensing the Sourcefire VRT rule set."
