Australia attacked by Singapore

A cyber attack that affected thousands of machines in Australia last month was launched from Singapore. According to the Straits Times, a Pacific Internet customer's server was turned into a rogue computer and hit an Australian university computer network and affecting 10,000 machines.

A watch-dog, the Infocomm Development Authority, could not identify the attacker or his location and knew no motive for the attacks.
