Yahoo Mail to offer 1GB storage IT-Observer.com Reader comments A few errors in this article: Premium Yahoo members already have 2GB of space - they will not therefore be receiving an upgrade as well. Yahoo is not 'following the rest of the free webmail providers' - it was one of the first services to respond to gmail, increasing storage from 4 or 6MB to 100MB. It was only when Hotmail later increased storage from 2MB to 250MB that Yahoo also upgraded to 250MB. Now, several months later, they are increasing space again to 1GB. As Hotmail and most other free webmail providers still have a maximum limit of 250MB (or lower), Yahoo is certainly not 'following' - it is one of only 2 of the major free providers offering this amount of space (the other is Gmail)! - PJH |
