Fortress Expands Global Distribution Network Of Award-winning Wireless Security Products

4/21/05 - Fortress Technologies unveiled key additions to the company's global distribution network that further broadens the reach of their award-winning wireless security products. This expansion incorporates the most qualified security providers that have proven success from small and medium size (SMB) to large enterprise and government customers. New relationships were signed with Ingram Micro in the United States and Canada, Equipements Scientifiques (ES) in France, Acal in the UK, and K Solutions in Southeast Asia.
"We view our distributors as world-class partners that represent Fortress locally and serve as our face to security providers and their customers," said Bill Wall, Sr. Director of Sales for Fortress Technologies. "We understand that organizations, regardless of their industry, want best-of-breed security solutions from trusted local providers. Our partnership with distributors and security providers enables customers of all sizes to deploy high assurance wireless security that is cost effective and easy to manage."
To date, Fortress has developed strategic partnerships with key resell leaders that have a winning track record and extensive global reach. The channel program broadens to include valuable companies like Ingram Micro, the world's largest information technology distributor, where Fortress is the only wireless security product offered today through its group. The growing roster also highlights ES, a major distributor based in Paris that focuses on the French market; Acal, a leading Pan European value added distributor providing specialist design-in, sales and marketing services; and K Solutions, formerly known as KPMG Consulting, which has a firmly established presence of more than 60 years in the region. These new agreements supplement and enhance a wide range of distributor relationships already in place across Europe, UK, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
International markets represent a major area of growth opportunity for Fortress, spurred by the explosive adoption of WiFi among SMB and enterprise networks and the resulting need to secure them. A recent survey of IT decision makers conducted by Momentum Research on behalf of Sun Microsystems found that network security is a key priority for end users in 2005. When asked about their top spending priorities for this coming year, 82 percent of respondents cited an increase in the overall level of network security.
"Our customers are voicing a growing demand for wireless security solutions that are not just good enough, but that deliver the strongest level of protection possible for their critical networks," said Alan Davidson, AP Executive Director, from K Solutions. "We believe that the Fortress products, combined with our complementary products and services, represent the best solution today for our customers to solve the challenges of securing networks as they encompass both wired assets and sensitive WiFi access points."
