Wallace Wireless Launches WES 3.0 – the next generation Emergency Management and Business Continuity suite of applications for the BlackBerry Publication date: Wednesday, 20 April 2005
In addition to WIC – the Wallace Incident Communicator, Wallace is launching new applications that wirelessly deliver Emergency Maps, CCTV and Webcam Images, and support for Mass Notification across the enterprise.
Wireless Enterprise Symposium – ORLANDO – April 19, 2005 – Wallace Wireless, a world leader in wireless incident management and crisis communications, today announced the release of the Wallace Enterprise Suite (WES) version 3.0. Designed for the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), WES 3.0 customers can now have access to Emergency Maps, CCTV and Webcam Images, integrated Mass Notification functionality and easier document manipulation for Emergency Management plans.
WIC – the Wallace Incident Communicator – was the first product to provide wireless access to corporate Emergency Plans, Maps, Floor Plans and Contact Lists. Now with WES 3.0, customers can also utilize the Mass Notification features to instantly communicate with team members across the country and around the world. With one roll-click from their BlackBerry, users can now notify key employees and stakeholders with details about specific incidents, delivered through multiple communications channels.
“The first hour after an incident is critical for keeping a business running. The companies that have recovered were able to notify key people without delay. With WES 3.0, we have answered our customers’ requirements to deliver notifications across a variety of different communications channels.” said Rob Moffat, President of Wallace Wireless. “Users can also now record a message on their BlackBerry phone, and have it broadcast to hundreds of other users.
WES 3.0 also boasts significant improvements to document storage and retrieval, making it a lot easier to sort, store and update Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans. Improved integration to Active Directory also makes it easier for customers to automate the wireless updating of key contact information such as phone and PIN numbers.
WES 3.0 also includes the ability to integrate camera feeds and video streaming sources. This data is then available to customers in an Emergency. Corporate security cameras, traffic cameras, Real Player and Microsoft Windows Media Player streaming feeds can be securely delivered to all BlackBerry handhelds, greatly increasing the capability of mobile professionals to view critical incident information.
WES 3.0 also integrates GPS-enabled devices, allowing users the ability view live maps to find out “where am I” and “where’s my team” during a crisis.
Wallace Wireless will be demonstrating the Wallace Enterprise Suite at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium conference in Orlando from April 19 – 21, 2005 in booth #100.
