(TSE: 4704, NASDAQ: TMIC), a leader in network antivirus and Internet content security software and services, today announced availability of Trend Micro™ OfficeScan™ version 7.0, an advanced integrated client and server security solution that combines enhanced comprehensive threat protection, such as antivirus and anti-spyware, with the services, manageability, and policy enforcement compatibility to help ensure an enterprise’s resource uptime and productivity. Corporate desktops today are at risk from many computing threats, including viruses and network worms, and more recently spyware. Increased reliance on the Internet, interconnection between clients and file and application servers, and improved mobility of client devices have created additional challenges for IT security administrators to keep multiple areas of the network updated with the latest protection to ensure client safety. “Computing has become such a necessary part of commerce, and as a result, data availability and system integrity have come into higher demand by organizations and their customers in order to do business,” said John Maddison, senior director of product management at Trend Micro. “A centralized, simple-to-manage solution that covers desktops, laptops, and network servers is imperative for staying a step ahead of malicious threats.” OfficeScan protects network end-points, such as desktops, laptops, and network servers, from various attacks with minimal impact on resources. Optional Damage Cleanup Services are designed to automatically remove traces of attacks and restore clients and servers to their pre-infection state without administrator intervention, which can significantly reduce management overhead and total cost of ownership. Enhanced spyware-blocking capabilities detect and stop unwanted spyware, adware, remote-access tools, dialers, joke programs, and password-cracking applications.
