Integrated Solution Provides Improved Security and Simplified Management

Atlanta - November 10, 2004 -AirDefense, the leader the leader in anytime, anywhere wireless security and monitoring, today announced the integration of industry-leading AirDefense wireless intrusion protection system (IPS) technology with Cisco Aironet Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructure. The new integrated security solution allows Cisco customers to protect their enterprise WLAN from the threat of security breaches with automated threat protection and the ability to quickly locate security breaches..

The AirDefense "self-managed" wireless protection system integrated into the Cisco Aironet WLAN infrastructure offers many benefits to network and security managers. First it enables the use of Cisco Aironet Access Points as sensors to provide monitoring data to AirDefense Enterprise servers. Second, it reduces deployment and operational support cost through automated synchronization of authorized wireless devices between AirDefense Enterprise and CiscoWorks Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE). Lastly, it enhances network control, management and security through correlation of monitoring and event data shared between the CiscoWorks WLSE and the AirDefense Enterprise server.
