Comment: FrontBridge in response to International Spam Enforcement Workshop Publication date: Friday, 15 October 2004
15 October, 2004
"The International Spam Enforcement Workshop in London this week should be commended for raising the profile of the issue of spam at an international level," Craig Whitney, director of email protection firm FrontBridge.
"FrontBridge welcomes any efforts that result in downing this antisocial activity. The challenge for international governments is reaching a consensus to tackle this issue.
"The legislative process by its very nature does not move quickly and spam is a very real issue for businesses today - our latest estimates predict that by December 90 per cent of all email in Europe will be spam.
"The spam problem needs to be tackled today. And the current solution lies in the application of technology - identifying spam and filtering it from the message stream."
