Business Process Management Technologies to Be Integrated With IT Systems and Security Management Software Automating Critical Workflow and Processes
SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 18 LANDesk Software, a leading provider of integrated systems and security management solutions, today announced the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of privately held NewRoad Software, Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla. NewRoad develops and sells business process management and workflow automation solutions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"This acquisition represents another step in LANDesk's plan to lead security and systems management companies into the growing business process management market," said Joe Wang, president and chief executive officer, LANDesk Software. According to market research firm WinterGreen Research, Inc., the business process management engine market is expected to grow from $884.4 million in 2004 to $2.4 billion in 2011. LANDesk will integrate NewRoad Software technologies with its systems and security management products. NewRoad's flagship Autobahn(TM) product helps manage real-time changes to any business process and is an essential technology for change intensive industries such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, government and manufacturing. The integration of NewRoad's business process management capabilities to LANDesk's existing product line will help customers automate, document and optimize business processes.
"Adding business process management technology is a natural extension of our core strengths in systems and security management," said Mr. Wang. "As businesses continue to look for ways to use technology to increase and drive business value for their organization, automating business processes and workflows will become more and more important."
In addition to increasing IT efficiency and effectiveness, automating process management helps organizations achieve compliance with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes Oxley, and best practice methodologies such as ITIL.
"NewRoad's technologies are easy to deploy and manage and provide rapid return on investment consistent with LANDesk's traditional value proposition to our customers," added Bob Macfarlane, LANDesk's vice-president of business development. "We continue to seek acquisitions that help our customers achieve bottom-line benefits."
LANDesk plans to make the newly acquired NewRoad technologies available as both a stand-alone product offering and as an add-on product for existing LANDesk products. LANDesk will assume the support of existing NewRoad customers through the LANDesk worldwide customer support organization.
