Secure Computing Announces Partnership With Blackspider

BlackSpider Technologies, Europe's fastest growing security services company, has chosen Secure Computing's SmartFilter as the technology behind its newly-launched WebDefence fully managed web filtering service. SmartFilter has been selected because, "it has the most extensive and rapidly updated URL database on the market," according to John Cheney, BlackSpider's CEO.
WebDefence is the only managed web filtering service that has been specifically designed to integrate closely with a mail filtering service - BlackSpider MailControl. As a result, customers can manage email and web policies from a single online portal.

BlackSpider carried out a thorough evaluation of all web filtering technology available and decided on SmartFilter primarily because of its SmartFilter Control List. This is an industry-leading database of many millions of websites organised into different categories for flexible policy enforcement options.
The database is continually screened and updated by Secure Computing's team of highly-experienced web analysts who use a combination of automated tools and multilingual skills to review websites in over 60 languages. This ensures that defences are updated in real-time and threats are scanned from the largest possible body of data.
