GFI secures investment from Insight Venture Partners
Wednesday, 26 October 2005 14:01 EST

London, UK, 26 October 2005 – GFI, a leading provider of network security, content security and messaging software, today announced it has secured investment from Insight Venture Partners.

The announcement underscores Insight’s commitment to GFI as it moves into its next phase of growth, following the appointment of Curtis Staker as chief executive officer. The decision to hire Staker followed his exemplary role as president at Websense, where he was responsible for achieving a five-fold increase in sales, and doubling its customer base to more than 24,000.

GFI has a track record of delivering award winning network and email security software that allows companies to create and maintain a secure network infrastructure. Customers such as NASA, Volkswagen and Coca-Cola Beverages have already chosen GFI to monitor their networks and test email security.

“GFI represents an ideal fit for Insight’s investment profile,” said Jeff Horing, Insight’s founder and managing partner. “The company has a significant number of satisfied customers, innovative technology that has won numerous product awards and is continually staying ahead of the curve. GFI has a growing number of dedicated channel partners and with the addition of Curtis Staker to the core existing management team, I am very enthusiastic about the prospects for the company going forward. Curtis’ wealth of experience and demonstrated success at Websense makes him the ideal candidate to lead GFI in its next phase of growth.”

“Insight Venture Partners is one of the leading investment firms for software and Internet enabled businesses,” commented Curtis Staker, chief executive officer at GFI. “Considering Insight’s excellent track record, qualified staff and diligent investment selection opportunity, I look forward to leading the next phase of GFI’s growth and expanded contribution to the success of our employees, channel partners and customers.”
