Processing Center to Secure Email Information for Four Financial Institutions

DALLAS--June 15, 2005--Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (Nasdaq:ZIXI), a global provider of secure e-messaging, e-prescribing, and e-transaction applications and services, today announced that Performance Data Center, a data processing facility for four financial institutions that comprise 50 branches in 10 states, has signed a three-year contract for ZixCorp email security solutions.

The company purchased ZixVPM(R) (Virtual Private Messenger) to provide automatic system-wide email encryption for 500 users, including a built-in lexicon that detects and encrypts nonpublic financial information to protect data suggested by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) as personally identifiable information.

"We wanted a solution that minimized the impact to our users and, with ZixVPM, our users send and receive email just as they always have with no training, software installation, or additional administration. It's completely low maintenance," said Steve Ahlers, president of Performance Data Center.

"We're building momentum in the financial sector and we're pleased that a company that performs such important functions for multiple banks trusts ZixCorp to protect its confidential data," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp. "With data leaks becoming headline news, we believe we will see more banking institutions turn to ZixCorp for increased protection."
