BindView to Demonstrate HP OpenView Operations for Windows Integration at HP Software Forum

DENVER— June 6, 2005 — BindView Corp. (NASDAQ: BVEW ) announced today that the company will provide enhanced security compliance capabilities for the new HP OpenView Compliance Manager. Customers will be able to leverage BindView’s powerful content source with its Compliance Center and bv-Control platforms to feed directly into the new HP OpenView Compliance Manager dashboard. The BindView HP OpenView Smart Plug-In (SPI) is intended to provide organizations with capabilities to track IT security compliance audit requirements and verify that remediation tasks are completed.

The reporting capabilities offered by the current BindView SPI for HP OpenView Operations for Windows will be available for demonstration on June 6 — 10, 2005, at the HP Software Forum in Booth #207. As part of its presence at the forum, BindView will also be presenting at the Partner Demo Theater.

BindView Compliance Center helps organizations establish internal IT security controls and standards, then measures results against established benchmarks. In addition, Compliance Center integrates with HP OpenView Service Desk to help IT operations automate a closed-loop lifecycle process for remediating security compliance vulnerabilities. Compliance Center supports Windows, UNIX, Linux and NetWare environments and is the first software of its kind to be certified against the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Level-2 Benchmarks.

“The evolving regulatory landscape around the world continues to drive increased costs and complexity for meeting and sustaining compliance,” said BindView Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Steve Kahan. “The combination of HP OpenView Compliance Manager with BindView solutions for IT security compliance provides organizations with advanced capabilities for establishing IT controls across multi-platform environments, measuring results within seconds using an extensive library of industry standards.”

“BindView will provide advanced IT security compliance capabilities to the HP OpenView Compliance Manager that are intended to help organizations meet their regulatory and own gold-standard compliance benchmarks,” said Yale Tankus, vice president of Partnerships and Alliances, Management Software Business, HP.
