Spammers use blonde jokes to pass filters

The UK-based email-security company BlackSpider Technologies has identified a rapid growth in of unsolicited emails using blonde jokes to pass self-learning Bayesian filters.

Bayesian filters are a technique for identifying incoming email spam, but unlike other spam filters that look for spam-identifying phrases in the email header and subject, Bayesian filters scan the entire context of an email when it looks for words or strings that will identify it as spam.

Bayesian filters typically recognize them as non-spam as they are usually seen in emails being passed between friends.
