Prevx Home 2.0 Launches as Version 1.0 Continues to Outperform Major League Anti-Virus and Firewall Products

LONDON, November 5 /PRNewswire/ --
New Prevx Home offers even tighter protection against incursion by spyware,
hacker and unknown threats that bypass anti-virus and firewall.
Prevx today announces the launch of Prevx Home Version 2.0 following the
worldwide success of the original Prevx Home software. With the original
version already outperforming download numbers of major anti-virus and firewall
products, the second-generation Prevx Home offers improved protection against
the latest wave of cyber-attacks.
In a significant new development in Prevx Home Version 2.0, users will now also
become part of an early warning network. Details of all attacks blocked are
sent to Prevx, automatically and anonymously, enabling identification of
emerging threats. This means Prevx will have the first ever real-time database
of zero-day attacks and spyware incursions as they happen.
Prevx provides comprehensive protection against covert installation of Internet
worms, Trojans, malware and spyware. Unlike today's spyware tools that detect
and clean-up after an infection, Prevx Home offers a far more powerful solution
by preventing infiltration before it actually occurs.
Even new attacks that successfully penetrate systems running Microsoft XP
Service Pack 2 are stopped by Prevx Home.
Finally, existing users will notice additional advice and guidance on how to
respond to new threats as they are blocked by the software.
Prevx Home 2.0 is the only software that will be able to catalogue these kinds
of attacks. The entire process for collecting the attack data is being
independently audited by security experts from Royal Holloway University, the
UK's leading Internet security faculty. Additionally, to protect existing Prevx
Home users' anonymity, registration details previously held by the company have
been purged from the database
"We have been delighted with the rapid take-up of Prevx Home and we have
decided to offer the new Home 2.0 product to offer the users even higher
protection. It is rare for a new category product to achieve this level of
acceptance," said Nick Ray, CEO at Prevx. "Prevx Home Version 2.0 adds
additional security and, by sending alert data to us, will provide the best
real-time view of new and emerging threats.
