Home Networking Simplified Makes Networking Your Home Effortless

New Illustrated Guide from Cisco Press Features Tips from the Geek Squad

Indianapolis, IN -June 1, 2005 - Cisco Press is publishing a four-color, easy-to-read reference book for everyday users interested in learning home networking. Written in a straightforward fashion, and featuring a visual approach to learning, Home Networking Simplified walks the non-technical user step-by-step from basic Internet connectivity to a truly networked home.

Authors Jim Doherty and Neil Anderson make home networking approachable by providing user-friendly features such as full-color illustrations, step-by-step instructions, and, as an added bonus, professional advice from the Geek Squad. The Geek Squad (www.geeksquad.com) is a company of on-call troubleshooting professionals, and they include tricks, tips, and troubleshooting guidelines throughout Home Networking Simplified. All this provides content in an easy-to-understand and fun format for readers learning home networking.

Installing a home network offers consumers new opportunities for using their PCs. Once networked, users can share files or an Internet connection between multiple computers, interact with a wide array of home entertainment options, or even work remotely. Home Networking Simplified teaches non-technical users how to connect to the Internet for the first time and shows more savvy users how to get the most out of their home networks.

"So often users are intimidated by home networking, believing it's too difficult to implement," says John Kane, Editor-In-Chief, Cisco Press. "We want to dispel that myth with Home Networking Simplified. Jim and Neil write with great insight and humor, and combined with the visual format and great tips and tricks from The Geek Squad, this book takes the complexity out of home networking and makes learning fun."
