SMB awareness of data back-up still in infancy stage

While small-to-medium scale businesses in the Philippines are starting to implement their own IT infrastructure, their knowledge on file back-up and security applications is still very basic.

For some SMBs, a regular file server with updated antivirus software would be enough. Though this could work for now, there will eventually be a need for more robust back-up and security applications at the SMB level.

Symantec Philippines country sales manager Al Ramon De la Cruz said that although demand for back-up and security software among SMBs has been relatively low, he is optimistic that this will eventually grow.
