Open Country, a systems management startup, recently opened for business with the goal of helping companies with up to 5,000 Linux installations reduce the costs of managing those systems. Open Country's new OC-Manager 2.0 enables remote support and configuration of Linux networks, provisioning for Linux servers, asset tracking and other management features. OC-Manager 2.0 is available from Red Hat, SuSE, Mandrake and others.
Linux distributor Mandrakesoft of France announced recently that it has reached an agreement to buy all outstanding shares of French support and service provider Edge IT.
