Cisco Weaves Wi-Fi Wireless Into Wired Networks

These services can also be applied to various types of wireless users, such as staff, guest and temporary workers via Catalyst 6500 Series WLSM mobility-group separation and policy application. Up to 16 logical mobility groups across different subnets can be established. Networking giant Cisco Systems announced its release of new networking hardware and software designed to allow companies to better integrate Wi-Fi capabilities into their existing wired networks.
Cisco's new WLAN module is designed for its Catalyst 6500 series switches, and the company also released new access point equipment to speed up deployment and management of wireless networks in corporate environments.
The idea is to utilize the existing networking infrastructure for new Wi-Fi networks instead of building separate ones.
