Should wireless mean clueless?

Given the large numbers of big businesses that don't implement good wireless security practices, it's easy to imagine how many home and small business users have taken the time to sort out their WPA, WEP and SSIDs. Yet for the continued growth of wireless LAN adoption by this user community this is pretty important. Are we going to enter a new era of war chalking in the suburbs and small business parks? The problem isn't just one of providing users with the right tools and educating them how to use them. That's like providing manuals for any item of technology, or more expanded foam in the packaging. It's quite useful up until the point of delivery, then it's all too often discarded and ignored. For home and small business users, it's better to automate as much as possible. But who should fix this, the mobile device vendors, or the access point providers?
Or maybe someone else? California-based Broadcom Corporation has produced a solution to the problem, with some software called SecureEZSetup. This is being made available to the Broadcom partners who OEM its Wi-Fi semiconductor technology to embed in PCs and modems, as part of the latest release of its OneDriver software.
