Sun buys security software company

Sun Microsystems Inc. Tuesday said it will buy privately held Waveset Technologies Inc., a maker of security software, in an all-cash deal. Financial terms weren't disclosed. Santa Clara-based Sun said software from the Austin, Texas, firm will be folded into the Sun's own identity-management software, Java System Network Identity Services. The deal is expected to close by December.
