Eicon Networks Develops Ssl-vpn For Secure Remote Working

Eicon Networks – CeBIT 2005, March 10-16, Hall 16 Booth G19

London, February 21st, 2005 - Eicon Networks, an international supplier of reliable communication products for networked business applications, will demonstrate its new Shiva VPN gateways for secure data communications in small and medium-sized enterprises at CEBIT 2005. Shiva VPN gateways form part of a new range of Eicon products which focus on the areas of voice, speech & conferencing, IP telephony and simple application development.

Secure Data Communications
Eicon’s three new Shiva VPN gateways for professional application in small and medium-sized enterprises answer the requirements for any VPN application situation. With the Shiva 4102 Eicon takes the lead in the development of secure remote access via SSL-VPN. Shiva 1100 combines VPN functionality to secure WLAN technology while the Shiva 500 is a gateway for the secure connection of single workplaces and SoHos. These new products join the family of already very successful Shiva VPN Gateways, the 2105 and 3000 series products, which include an unlimited number of client licenses and free management software to be used in association with the gateway, allowing for quick, flexible configuration and management, even when several devices are involved.

Voice, Speech & Conferencing
Already supported by Nuance and Envox, Eicon Networks’ Diva Server V series, which was specially developed for voice, speech and conferencing applications will see the addition of new functionality such as call holding and call forwarding for analog extension lines. Diva Server SoftIP software allows a quick, seamless migration from existing fax, voice and unified-messaging applications to purely IP-based communication environments. Diva Server SoftIP therefore creates a basis for virtually any Voice over IP (VoIP) and Fax over IP (FoIP) application. The Diva Server SDK offers an extensive package of new functions; this comprehensive, easy-to-operate tool enables software developers and system integrators to create a myriad of applications including for voice, speech & conferencing.

“We are confident that we have the optimal product range with which to supply the markets for hardware-based voice applications and for secure data communications,” states Hille Vogel, Marketing Manager, Eicon Networks. “Thanks to our many different technology partnerships, we develop more than just standardized solutions; we are also able to supply products specifically customized to meet individual user needs to an ever-increasing extent.”

Shiva VPN Gateways
Shiva 500
This new hardware client eliminates the disadvantages generally associated with software-based clients, such as complicated administration and complex software updates. The free Shiva Central Management Software (CMS) with logging and reporting capabilities makes it very easy and simple for a network administrator to remotely manage and view what is happening throughout the network at all times.

Shiva 1100
This gateway offers ten VPN tunnels and was specifically designed with the needs of small businesses in mind. Based on the 802.11g standard for wireless data transmission, it is equipped with WPA encryption to provide the highest level of security in communications with a local area network (LAN). The Shiva 1100 also comes with free Shiva Central Management Software (CMS)

Shiva 4102
This product uses AES encryption to enable secure data access from any device that has a web browser, such as PDAs, Linux, Apple or Windows platforms. Because the Shiva 4102 solution does not require the installation of clients on the remote end, it is the perfect solution to drive down the total cost of ownership, and its ease of use is greatly increased by the fact that it allows VPN accesses from more places than ever before, like Internet kiosks.
